If you shop at your local farmers market and have built relationships with the people who grow your food, then you know: farmers are some of the most hardworking, generous-hearted individuals out there.
Cathy is one of those people.
To this day, I can’t quite wrap my head around how she does it all—caring for her animals (each one named and loved), tending to her garden and fruit trees, and still finding time to show up for her community. She’s truly the real deal.

One day at the market, Cathy told me she was thinking of making goat milk soap using the milk from her own herd. Now, if you’ve ever tried her milk, you know it’s the real thing—thick, creamy, and untouched. She refuses to skim off the fat, believing that the milk should be used just as her goats give it, full of goodness and love.
When I heard about her plan, I was immediately in. I offered to create a test batch, eager to see what we could bring to life.
The Challenge of Keeping It Raw and Pure
The first few test batches didn’t meet my standards. In traditional soapmaking, goat milk can overheat during the chemical reaction with sodium hydroxide, essentially "cooking" the milk and degrading some of its natural nutrients.
(And yes, sodium hydroxide is a necessary part of the soapmaking process—more on that in another blog!)
Then inspiration struck: Cathy owns a freeze dryer.
So I asked—what if she could freeze-dry her full-fat, fresh goat milk?
A Lightbulb Moment
This was the game-changer. By incorporating freeze-dried, raw goat milk into our cold-process soap, we retained as much of the milk’s nutritional value as possible.
And the results? Incredible.
We launched our Goat Milk Soap during the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show, and the feedback was immediate and overwhelming. Customers who picked up a bar came back days later—across town—to stock up on more. We completely sold out.
Why This Soap Feels So Different
I’m proud of every soap we make at SunTree, but there’s something truly magical about this one. It’s not just that it’s made with “clean” ingredients—it’s the quality of those clean ingredients. It’s the full-fat goat milk from well-loved animals. It’s the small-batch, hands-on process that goes into every bar.
Each one is lovingly poured, cut, and cured by hand.

I have had the pleasure of using SunTree products for the past two years. They are unique and all natural. The addition of goat’s milk soap has been a game changer for me! Creamy and smooth it leaves my skin soft to the touch. With a lifetime of skin problems the goats milk soap is an answer to my prayers. Thank you Karistina for this wonderful new product.
We found this soap at the Tucson Gem Show this past February and it has been a blessing to my skin. I’ve been experiencing a recent eczema type of skin problem and this product is the only one that has provided me a soothing bathing experience after trying with several unsuccessful and even doctor recommended products.
I had an itch on the side of my breast that just flat wouldn’t go away, you couldn’t see it but I tried different creams. I use this soap and within a couple of days the itch was gone and has not come back! I am sold on this product totally! Also makes my skin feel lovely!
Have been using this wonderfully lavender scented soap for months now. Leaves my skin feeling so moisturized and the scent is so calming on my skin. Would highly recommend to anyone needing a soothing skin bath and some wonder lavender aroma therapy. Happy, calm skin = happy you!
This goat milk soap has been such a pleasure to use! First of all, it doesn’t leave my skin as dry as other soaps do, and second, I love that Kristina cares about natural ingredients (in our toxic world – it’s a jewel!). Third, I personally know the owner of the goats (have been to the farm). They are happy and healthy animals. I’m so excited Kristina created this amazing soap with nutritious milk from a local farmer. I know she uses high quality essential oils too. This product has been a great investment in my health!
